What is G-CAT?

The General Capacity Assessment for Violence Prevention Tool (G-CAT) guides organizations in enhancing local public health capacity to implement comprehensive violence prevention across their communities. It is available on CDC's VetoViolence website and can be used in any violence prevention effort, including teen dating violence and youth violence.

The General Capacity Assessment and Planning Tool is an online tool that helps local health departments and community based organizations assess and improve their community's capacity to implement the Healthy Relationships Toolkit. The tool allows organizations to download a survey to collect input from their organization and partners, generate a report specific to their organization, and access resources to build capacity.
